The God Equation

Introduction

What is everything? Or should one ask, "What is anything"? Starting from gravity until the tiniest particles in the universe, how to connect all those elements into one solid equation. Contemporary scientists have started prioritizing the discovery of a natural “Theory of Everything” as a path to understanding the “whys”, “hows”, and “whats” of the universe. In “The God Equation”, Mike Hockney fiercely defends the idea that math is the base of anything and everything. It is a puzzle, if wholly solved, all secrets are underlying secrets are unleashed.

Despite Hockney’s severe criticism of both modern and ancient scientists, mathematicians, and philosophers – there remains one person whom he truly believes holds the keys of the locked doors of the universe. That person is Leonhard Euler, a Swiss mathematician, astronomer, physicist, geographer, logician, and engineer with his number one discovery: The “Euler Equation.”

The Birth of Existence

According to Illuminism – Hockney’s perspective view – the world initiated solely from single, one-dimensional points that had an infinite existence and were the number one source of all mathematics of today. This point, referred to as a monad, is a mathematical point that contains all numbers, from zero to infinity, in all directions

(negatives included) and orientations (fractions, imaginary numbers, and complex numbers). Hockney forthright asserts that infinity is the direct inverse of zero, along which the net result of all the numbers in the midst is nothing (zero), and declares that zero and infinity are the base of all other numbers existence. What Hockney is looking for after analyzing all these criteria can be summed up in one word: balance.

Although Hockney clearly acknowledged Pythagoras’ works as a starting point for that unreachable balance between numbers, he makes it vivid enough that Euler’s Formula is superior to any other formula ever developed.

The Euler Equation’s Superiority

Euler’s formula balanced all types of numbers without prioritizing one over the other. In other words, it placed all numbers in an equilibrium state, which might later provide a precise path to existence that can be unveiled merely by deciphering numbers.

The generalized view of Euler’s formula - A e  i( fx + ö)  = A cos (fx + ö) + i A sin (fx + ö) - in which f stands for frequency, A for amplitude, and phi stands for phase. The formula is a formula of waves; nevertheless, its uniqueness lies in its ability to balance between multiple tyes of numbers – mathematically allowing three distinguished types of waves to exist

Mathematics is the language of the Universe

Hockney places mathematics as the root of all existence. He offers harsh criticism on religion, modern scientists, and even the top old scientists with their theories. The core reason behind Hockney’s rage is that missing piece of the puzzle, the piece that is never found in the laws of physics, chemistry, or any other branch of science. Why does one law exist the way it is? Why are there laws, organized in a very precise tactic, but never really explaining why is it following this tactic. If those questions were placed at the prime of every physics theory in existence, it will lead to a whole new path – this path will be similar to a dark cave that will eventually lead you to the alternative exist which answers all the “whys” and the hows” of scientists. Mathematics, the root of all other STEM fields, is the only field that scientists need to prioritize and once they do, they will finally uncover the full story of the universe.
